Khirbet Susiya, South Hebron Hills: Settlers attacked the village, hitting residents and activists and vandalizing and stealing property. Soldiers and police arrested residents while allowing the settlers to leave

On Monday, 24 March 2025, at around 6:00 P.M., two settlers set a flock of sheep to graze near homes in the village of Khirbet Susiya. Residents who noticed them alerted others in the community, and several residents gathered near the homes and reported the incident to the police.

The settlers led the flock into a private barley field near the houses, where a verbal confrontation broke out with the residents. A few minutes later, five more masked settlers arrived and began throwing stones at the residents.

Additional residents arrived and threw stones at the settlers in an attempt to drive them away. Meanwhile, about 10 more settlers arrived, some armed with clubs and others with firearms.

The mutual stone-throwing continued even after soldiers and police officers arrived. The settlers smashed the windshields of two residents' cars, broke windows in houses, stole a security camera and vandalized additional property—all in the presence of the forces. After about half an hour, American activists arrived and some 10 settlers attacked them with stones, clubs and fists. The activists fled to their car and the settlers chased after them, smashed all the windows and punctured one of the tires. Soldiers then held the activists at the scene for about 40 minutes, while allowing the settlers to leave.

In the end, the forces arrested three residents of the village: Hamdan Ballal, 36, a father of three; Nasser Shreiteh, 50, a father of 17; and Khaled Shinran, 33, a father of four. All three were beaten by the settlers and sustained various injuries. They were held overnight in the yard of a military base, on the ground, blindfolded and with their hands tied behind their backs.
