Burqah, Ramallah District: Israeli settlers attacked tents and fired live rounds at defending Palestinian residents

On Saturday, 21 December 2024, at around 10:00 A.M., a resident of the village of Burqah noticed five settlers grazing their sheep on agricultural lands belonging to the Nawabit family in the a-Sanam area, south of the village. Three village residents who arrived at the scene asked the settlers to leave, but they refused, claiming it was their land. Mutual stone-throwing ensued between the settlers and the Palestinians, as one of the settlers filmed the Palestinian residents. The settlers then backed away about 300 meters and called for reinforcements. About 17 more settlers showed up, some of them masked, as well as 20 more Palestinian residents, and again, the two groups threw stones at each other. After about an hour, four armed settlers arrived on an ATV and fired live rounds in the air. The Palestinian residents retreated to a hill in the village overlooking the area, where they watched as three settlers went to the Nawabit family tent compound, punctured the tires of a water tanker and left. After about 15 minutes, Border Police officers arrived and confiscated security cameras from a village home overlooking the compound.
