On Wednesday, May 10, 2023, shortly after midnight, settlers arrived in the town of Turmusaya and set fire to crops in a plot of land belonging to a town resident. The next day, May 11, at around 5:00 P.M., Muhammad ‘Awwad (65), also a resident of Turmusaya, saw settler arriving at his land in three cars and trying to set fire to crops. The fire did not spread.
The following day, May 12, at around 6:00 P.M., about 15 settlers arrived in three cars at the road connecting Turmusaya and al-Mughayir and threw stones at Palestinian cars passing on the road. The settlers smashed the windshield and passenger side window of 29-year-old Muamen Naser’s car and damaged its body. Naser was able to get out of the car and escape unharmed. The settlers then torched 24-year-old Tayyem Abu ‘Awwad’s car, which was parked by the side of the road, and left. Roughly 30 minutes later, soldiers arrived. Local residents told them what happened, but they did nothing.
