On 22 December 2021, at around 7:00 P.M., Samah Abu Haikal (49) noticed settlers wandering around her home on the screen connected to the security cameras installed on her house. When she went outside to check what was happening, she discovered that the settlers had dismantled part of the stone fence surrounding her house. Abu Haikal called the Israel Police and after 15 minutes, police officers arrived and suggested she file a complaint at the police station, which she did the following day.
Israel’s regime of apartheid and occupation is inextricably bound up in human rights violations. B’Tselem strives to end this regime, as that is the only way forward to a future in which human rights, democracy, liberty and equality are ensured to all people, both Palestinian and Israeli, living between the Jordan River and the Mediterranean Sea.
