On Friday, 28 June 2024, at around 7:00 A.M., three settlers took a flock of sheep and goats to graze in groves containing olives and other fruit trees located on private land south of the village of a-Tuwani. At 8:00 A.M., a village council worker called the police, and an hour later, an officer arrived, pushed back the settlers and suggested the landowner file a complaint at the police station. The officer left, and the settlers resumed grazing their flock on the land.

At around 10:00 A.M., Israeli activists arrived and filmed the settlers grazing their flock in the plot and damaging olive trees. The residents called the police again and an officer who arrived at 11:00 A.M. demanded to see the deed for the land. The officer agreed to order the settlers to leave only after reviewing the document, and again suggested the residents file a complaint at the police station.
