Kh. a-Tuba, Masafer Yatta: Israeli settlers graze their flock in cultivated Palestinian field adjacent to residents’ homes and attack three of them with pepper spray

On Tuesday, 22 August 2023, at around 5:30 P.M., three settlers armed with clubs went with a flock of sheep to cultivated lands belonging to residents of Kh. a-Tuba and located right next to homes in the community. Hamzah Abu Jundiyah (19) was watering his family’s flock at their water cistern. The settlers approached the family’s flock with their own and got into an altercation with the family members, which included mutual shoving. One of the settlers pepper sprayed Hamzah’s brother, Salah Abu Jundiyah (25) in the face. He had been standing off to the side and recording the incident. Salah fell to the ground, and then their parents, Zahreyeh and ‘Omar Abu Jundiyah, arrived, and the settler pepper sprayed them in the eyes as well. The settlers then left with their flock. A Palestinian ambulance that had been called by the family arrived, and the crew treated the three family members who had been hurt.

Later that day, the family members filed a complaint at the Kiryat Arba police station.

On 16 March 2023, a settler attacked Salah Abu Jundiyah with a steel bar and pepper sprayed him in the eyes.
