Khallet Makhul, Jordan Valley: Settlers harass Palestinians picking herbs and call soldiers, who detain them

In the morning hours of 31 January 2020, a group of settlers, some riding an ATV, came to an area near the community where three residents of Tayasir were picking gundelia [Arabic: ‘aqub]. The settlers surrounded the three, summoned soldiers and claimed that the Palestinians had come to the area to steal. The soldiers detained the three residents and questioned them while the settlers swore at them and tried to attack them. Israeli police officers arrived and informed the three that they were not allowed to be there, and drove them to the area of Marj Na’jah.
