In recent years — and especially since 7 October 2023 — there has been a sharp increase in both the number and severity of settler attacks against Palestinians. The incidents reported on this blog do not reflect all incidents of settler violence in the West Bank, but only those that B’Tselem was able to document and investigate.

At around 8:30 P.M., settlers the residents recognize arrived at the community, some wearing police uniforms. They entered Shamekh Daraghmeh’s home, demanded the family show them ID cards and searched their mobile phones. When they found photos of Palestinians killed on a phone belonging to one of the family’s adult sons, the police officers pressed him up against the wall for half an hour. His mother, who was watching, fell ill and was taken to hospital in ‘Ein al-Beida, where she was treated for high blood pressure.

At 7:30 A.M., two settlers arrived at pasturelands near the community and shouted at a 12-year-old boy who was grazing his flock in the area. The boy’s father, Mansur Abu ‘Ammar, arrived and the settlers drove both father and son away. Later that day, the settlement guard came to the community, told the family the pastureland was his, and warned them against grazing their flock there.
