In recent years — and especially since 7 October 2023 — there has been a sharp increase in both the number and severity of settler attacks against Palestinians. The incidents reported on this blog do not reflect all incidents of settler violence in the West Bank, but only those that B’Tselem was able to document and investigate.

In the morning, about 30 settlers entered the community on ATVs and in a car, on the pretext of looking for stolen cattle. They roamed throughout the community and flew a drone over it, staying until late afternoon. At 3:30 P.M., the settlers began invading tents. They forced residents who were outside to go into their tents and wouldn’t let them out. The settlers started leading a flock of about 50 heads of cattle belonging to Feisal Msa’ed to a nearby settlement outpost. When residents tried to stop the theft, the settlers assaulted them with stones, injuring several residents. Jihad Msa’ed (55) was hit in the head and taken to hospital in Tubas. The settlers also stole his cell phone, vandalized his car and then left, taking the stolen cattle with them. Soldiers who later arrived heard the residents’ complaints and set out after the settlers, but the cattle was not returned.
