In recent years — and especially since 7 October 2023 — there has been a sharp increase in both the number and severity of settler attacks against Palestinians. The incidents reported on this blog do not reflect all incidents of settler violence in the West Bank, but only those that B’Tselem was able to document and investigate.

At around 2:00 P.M., while members of the Nawaj’ah family were grazing their flock near their home, two soldiers the family know as settlers arrived and threatened family members at gunpoint. The settlers yelled at the family members to sit down on the ground and then one of them hit the father, Ibrahim Nawaj’ah (60) on the shoulder. The two threatened the family members not to go near the observation tower that was erected in the area after 7 October 2023.

At night, a community resident heard voices and saw flashlights in Muhammad al-Hadar's land. In the morning, al-Hadar discovered settlers had cut a 500-meter barbed wire fence.

At 8:00 A.M., about five soldiers whom residents recognize as area settlers arrived and damaged a wind turbine used to generate power, and a device for extending WIFI reception range.

At 8:00 A.M., two settlers arrived at the home of Ibrahim Nawaj’ah, told him he had to leave and threatened him. That night, at around 2:00 A.M., about ten soldiers, two of whom Ibrahim knows to be settlers, showed up at his home, beat him and threatened to return if he did not leave by early afternoon.

Settlers and a soldier arrived in the community's pasturelands, chased a shepherd until he arrived at his house, and fired near his leg without hitting him.
