New report: Void of Responsibility
According to a new report that B'Tselem published today (14 Sept. '10), the Israeli army's policy not to investigate the killing of Palestinian civilians exempts soldiers from accountability, even when criminal offenses are suspected. Even in the few cases in which investigations are opened, routine procrastination by the Judge Advocate Generals' Office leads to closing of the files.

Settlements are not just a political issue

Prohibited mining of minerals in West Bank to be reduced
Following Yesh Din's petition to the High Court in March 2009, Israel decided to stop Israeli quarrying activity in the West Bank. Since 1967, Israeli quarrying there has been used mainly for construction in Israel and the settlements, in breach of international law.

High Court legitimizes land looting
On 1 Sept. '10, Israel's High Court of Justice denied a petition to enforce the law against the land looting and unlawful building in the Derekh Ha'avot outpost, on the grounds that the court usually refrains from interfering in the law-enforcement authorities' priorities.
