19 Aug. '11: B'Tselem strongly condemns attack in the south

B’Tselem strongly condemns the attack yesterday in the south of Israel in which eight Israelis, six men (two of them members of the security forces) and two women, were killed, in several incidents, and dozens were injured. Attacks aimed at civilians undermine all rules of morality and law. Specifically, the intentional killing of civilians is considered a "grave breach" of international humanitarian law and a war crime. Whatever the circumstances, such acts are unjustifiable.

B'Tselem again calls on all parties to keep civilians out of the hostilities.
