From the field
Throughout Oct.-Nov. 2021, B’Tselem documented 45 cases of settler violence against Palestinian olive harvesters, including physical assaults, crop theft, and damage to private and agricultural property. Once again, the assailants were fully backed by the state – primarily the military, which could have taken action to prevent them. The Israeli authorities allow this violence to continue as it serves the state’s long-term goal of taking over more Palestinian land.
