25.7.2012, Zidan Sharabati, a volunteer in B'Tselem's camera distribution project, documented from his window a soldier detaining a number of Palestinian youths. The incident occurred at the military checkpoint near the Beit Hadassah settlement in Hebron City Center (H2 area). The soldier ordered the youths to wait by the side of the street. The video shows one of the youths, 17 year old Thair Ghanam, arguing with the soldier and holding his arm, after the soldier asked the youths to present their ID cards.

[Please note: the volunteer stopped recording while the youths were standing by the wall, so this was not documented.] Then, the video shows the officer holding the youth and taking him by force up the street, then head-butting him. The officer is then seen continuing to assault Ghanam and when he releases the youth, both disappear walking up the road.

B'Tselem reported the incident to the IDF spokesperson's office and the Military Police Investigative Division (MPID).

The figures do not include fatalities in the Gaza Strip and Israel during Operation Protective Edge (8 July 2014 through 26 August 2014). These figures will be added once the relevant investigations are complete.
