40 years since 1967 - a day of public events

B'Tselem, in collaboration with other prominent Israeli human rights organizations active in the Occupied Territories , is holding a day of public events on June 1st, 2007, to mark 40 years since the 1967 war and Israel 's subsequent occupation of the West Bank and Gaza Strip. The event is intended to generate discussion among the mainstream Israeli public regarding the implications of the ongoing violation of Palestinian human rights on Israeli society. For this reason, the event will be held in the Tel Aviv port, a leisure site for Israeli families .

The day will include film, theater, photography and art exhibitions, discussion panels and information stands. Leading Israeli artists, directors, academics and writers will take part in the events.
