Israel splits families between Gaza and the West Bank, September 2008

In the past year, Israel escalated its policy of separating between Palestinians from the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. The separation regime tears families apart, puts thousands at risk of expulsion to Gaza and turns Palestinians into "illegal aliens" in their own homes. Israel exploits the distress of these split families to coerce them into setting up permanent home in Gaza.
